Why Corn-Free, Soy-Free, Non-GMO, Pasture Raised Chicken?

Why pasture raised, non-GMO, corn-free & soy-free chicken?

We take pride in providing our customers with the healthiest chicken possible. That's why we take extra precautions and raise our chickens on a non-GMO, corn-free, soy-free diet and pasture. We understand that this process is labor-intensive, but we believe it's worth it and want to educate our customers on why we take these measures.

What did the animal eat yesterday that you are eating today?

GMO farming practices often involve using pesticides and herbicides that can leave high levels of chemical residue, which can be detrimental to animal, human and environmental health. To promote a healthier lifestyle and conserve the natural environment, we validate that all our ingredients used in creating chicken feed are non-GMO.

Corn is naturally high in sugar and starch, which makes it difficult for our bodies to digest, especially with the increasing presence of GMO corn. Although corn is rich in nutrients like calcium, magnesium, and manganese, the levels of these nutrients are often reduced in GMO corn, and toxins are more prevalent.  Corn is not used in Vrooman Ranch chickenfeed.

Soy-based products can lead to mucus production in the body. Allergic reactions can also arise from consuming soy, as certain soy proteins may be identified as harmful invaders by your immune system. Your body can react to soy by releasing histamine and other chemicals into your bloodstream, causing a variety of allergic responses. Soy is among the leading dietary allergens that may contribute to issues such as acne, asthma, and eczema.

Soybeans have a high phytic acid content that binds to some minerals, reducing their absorption capacity. Removing soy from chicken feed improves chicken’s mineral absorption.

Pasture-raised chicken provides numerous benefits. Not only is it a healthier option for consumption, but it's also better for the environment and the chickens themselves. When chickens are given the freedom to roam outside, they are able to forage for their food by pecking, scratching, and eating a variety of natural sources, including insects, grains, worms, and grass. This results in a healthier and more nutritious chicken.

Pasture raised chickens have a more diverse diet, which can result in more nutritious meat and eggs. Studies have shown that pasture raised eggs can contain higher levels of vitamins, minerals, and omega-3 fatty acids compared to their conventionally raised counterparts.

At our farm, we are dedicated to providing a natural environment for our animals. Our chickens are raised in a way that might surprise you, which can even give their meat and eggs a distinctive taste. We believe that once you try chicken raised in its truest form, you'll never want to go back to consuming factory-raised chicken products.
