What type of Cattle Does Vrooman Ranch Raise?

Selecting the appropriate cattle breed is a crucial decision for farmers, as various factors such as climate, feed, and objectives contribute to this choice. Our farm specializes in breeding Hereford, Black Angus, and South Poll cattle, each with unique characteristics.

Black Angus at Vrooman Ranch

Anguses are hardy animals with a compact body, adaptable nature, and friendly personality. They mature early, produce high-quality meat due to their marbling characteristics, and are often used in crossbreeding.

Hereford at Vrooman Ranch

Herefords are known for their longevity, exceptional foraging abilities, and tender meat, making them a popular choice among farmers.

South Poll at Vrooman Ranch

South Polls, a crossbreed of Red Angus, Senepol, Hereford, and Barzona, are efficient in converting grass to beef, making them ideal for regenerative grazing in Southern regions. They are also renowned for their fertility, longevity, and docile temperament, making them ideal for our farm's goals.

Vrooman Ranch aims to create an all-South Poll herd within a decade, emphasizing tenderness and efficiency over size, to meet our customers' needs. While South Polls can be costly and challenging to acquire, we have invested in breeding with our current herd and using South Poll bulls to achieve our objectives.

We believe that South Polls are the ideal breed for our farm and clients, and we are committed to breeding them for their exceptional qualities.
